Significant figures in the community attended the event, including former Mayor Ed Burtner, Magistrate Robert Blanton, and Winchester Police Department Chief Travis Thompson. The support from local leaders underscored the lodge’s role as an important entity in the Winchester community.

Currently, Winchester Elks Lodge #2816 is facing financial challenges due to necessary repairs that were identified after severe weather conditions damaged the building’s gutters and fencing. Larry Hall, the Exalted Ruler of the lodge, acknowledged these needs, emphasizing that the renovations are essential for making the lodge visually appealing again and ensuring it remains a viable community hub.
