First up, it’s time to raise your steins! Oktoberfest at the Cathedral of Christ the King is set for September 20 and 21. This beloved event has been a staple in Lexington for over thirty years, pairing fantastic live music from national touring bands with traditional German fare. This year’s highlights include country singer Tyler Farr and the throwback cover band Zack Attack. And let’s not forget the excitement of carnival games, a cake wheel, a raffle, and an astonishing grand prize—a 2025 Buick Encore GX or $25,000! Entry is free, and you can join the festivities at 299 Colony Blvd.

Art & Culture Await!

If art is more your scene, then don’t miss Art On The Town at Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park on September 20 from 5-9 p.m. It’s the last installment of 2024, so make sure to check out local art, live music, and delicious food trucks. This fantastic event is free to attend at 251 W Main St.

In addition, Gallery Hop will light up Lexington’s creative spaces on the same night from 5-8 p.m. Wander through numerous galleries and artist studios, showcasing their latest works. Free guides will be available at LexArts.

For a family-friendly outing, head to Void Sake Co. for a Night Market featuring local artisans and craftspeople on September 20 from 5-10 p.m. The market is free and even welcomes your furry friends! Join the squad at 819 National Ave, Suite 120.

Don’t forget about the third annual Tick Town Hoedown at the Jeffersonville Community Center, taking place on September 20 from 6-8 p.m. Join in on the fun with line dancing and clogging in a cozy, community setting at 225 KY-213, Mt. Sterling.

Music All Weekend Long!

On September 20, music lovers can catch stand-up comedian ISMO at Comedy Off Broadway at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and again on September 21 at 6:30 and 9 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $35. Head over to 161 Lexington Green Cir #C4 to laugh the night away!

Additionally, kids and adults alike can enjoy Cirque Us at the Norton Center for the Arts on September 20 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Enjoy mesmerizing performances for tickets between $24 and $61 at 600 W Walnut St, Danville.

Sports fans have plenty to cheer for! The UK men’s soccer team takes on the Georgia Southern Eagles at the Bell Soccer Complex on September 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced between $7 and $10 at 556 Wildcat Ct.

Food & Festivities Galore!

This weekend also boasts the 50th Annual Midway Fall Festival on September 21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and September 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join in the fun with vendors, live music, and activities for the kids—all for free in downtown Midway!

And as if that wasn’t enough, the Lexington Farmers Market will feature local pumpkins, mums, and seasonal vegetables in Tandy Centennial Park on September 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Southland Drive September 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come for the produce, stay for the community vibes!
