Welcoming summer with a thrust towards community health, UK HealthCare is hosting the exhilarating ‘Be Healthy Bash’ in Lexington. This open-for-all, free-to-enter festival packs a punch with an array of activities and stands dedicated to imparting information on nutrition, fitness, and emotional wellness.
With doors opening at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., come June 8, the Fayette County Extension Office on Harry Sikes Way will be bustling with community members and health enthusiasts. Among the highlights are health screenings, vaccinations, presentations on wellness resources, taste testing, cooking demos, and emotional wellness activities. Anyone visiting can also indulge in physical games and activities.
The festival does not downgrade on entertainment, infusing fun elements like inflatables suitable for kids and adults, a petting zoo, live music, and a unique ‘smoothie bike’. Safety education forms a crucial part of the event courtesy Safety City, while the chance to meet UK’s Wally Cat spices up the day further.
“We’re excited that the Be Healthy Bash now offers a wide range of health and wellness services beyond our original vision,” said Kristen Stakelin, M.D., medical director at BBDC. “I hope so many in the community take advantage of this positive ‘Be Healthy’ event.”
