University of Kentucky Conducts National Search for New Dean of College of Design
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 1, 2024) — As part of an extensive national search, the University of Kentucky is set to host three finalists for the dean position of the College of Design. These eminent finalists, representing a diverse pool of candidates, will be engaging with the University community in several ways including open forums and meetings throughout the campus.
First Candidate Ready for Open Forum
Getting the proceedings underway, the first candidate – referred to as Candidate A, for confidentiality purpose – is scheduled to participate in an open forum on Thursday, May 2, at 2 p.m. This forum will be held in the Britt Brockman Senate Chamber of the Gatton Student Center.
Encouraging participation, members of the UK community are invited to attend the forum. For those who are unable to join in person, the forum will be available on Zoom. The names and CVs of the finalists will be available on the search website, exclusively to the UK community 24 hours preceding each forum.
Feedback and Evaluation
Following each forum, a recording and a confidential online survey about the candidates will be accessible on the search website for 48 hours. This provision allows members of the UK community to assess the strengths and areas of growth for each candidate. Supervisors at the University are urged to enable their team members to participate in the open forums, wherever feasible.
Selection Process
After receiving feedback from open forums, the committee overseeing the search, led by UK Provost Robert S. DiPaola, will make the final selection.
