Two-Vehicle Collision on Tates Creek Road Results in One Hospitalization

Lexington, Ky. – A two-vehicle collision on Tates Creek Road has resulted in one person being hospitalized. The incident occurred on the morning of October 20, 2024, around 9:47 a.m.. Police reports indicate that a vehicle traveling on outbound Tates Creek Road ran a red light at the intersection with Malabu Drive, leading to a collision with another vehicle. This impact caused the second vehicle to overturn.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, where they successfully extracted two passengers from the flipped vehicle. One of these passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

As a result of the accident, police imposed traffic restrictions on Tates Creek Road. All outbound lanes at the Malabu Drive intersection were closed, while only one lane remained open for inbound traffic. Crews worked diligently at the scene to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow.

As of the most recent updates, Tates Creek Road is now clear and all lanes have reopened. The swift response of emergency services ensured that the situation was managed effectively, allowing for the safe transportation of the injured party.
