Emergency Crews Respond to Two-Vehicle Collision in Lexington

Incident Details

On the morning of Thursday, April 11, 2024, emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Tates Creek Road and East New Circle, Lexington. The incident occurred approximately at 6:12 a.m. Initial reports indicated a possible entrapment situation, however upon arrival, officers discovered that was not the case.

Injuries and Hospitalizations

The collision resulted in two people sustaining injuries, which, according to police reports, were deemed non-life-threatening. These individuals were promptly transported to a local hospital for further treatment and medical evaluation. As of this report, their current condition remains undisclosed.

Investigation and Road Closure

No criminal charges are expected from the incident as it is suspected to be an unfortunate traffic mishap. In the wake of the collision, Tates Creek outbound was temporarily closed to all traffic for approximately an hour. This was to safely allow emergency crews to attend to injured parties and clear the crashed vehicles from the roadway — an operation that was executed efficiently and effectively by the teams on ground.

Calls for Safe Driving

Given the circumstances surrounding the accident, law enforcement officials have since issued a plea to all drivers in the area to exercise caution and prioritize safety especially under adverse weather conditions. The accident served as a sobering reminder of the impact that inclement weather can have on road conditions and overall traffic safety.
