Two men have been apprehended and charged in connection to a robbery incident that occurred on East 5th Street in Lexington. The duo allegedly attempted to rob potential buyers who had shown interest in a car advertised online.

The Lexington Police Department reported that on April 20, at 7:21 p.m., they received a call about a robbery in progress. Two individuals alerted the police that they had arranged to meet a supposed car seller, only for the man to brandish a firearm and demand cash from them.

Quick Action by the Police

The quick and efficient response by the police ensured the identification and subsequent arrest of 20-year-old Aliyon Blevins and 18-year-old Wend Samne as the key actors in the incident. The Lexington Police promptly acted by issuing charges on both men in relation to the robbery event.

Blevins was detained on the day of the crime, facing charges including fleeing and evading, and robbery. A week later, on April 30, Samne was apprehended on identical charges. Samne is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center, pending a court hearing.
