Lexington, KY – A stolen vehicle pursuit that began in Lexington ended with the recovery of the car in Madison County on Monday afternoon. The vehicle, taken from the Walmart at Nicholasville Road and Man O’ War Boulevard, was reported stolen around 11 AM.
Shortly after the report, the Lexington Police Department’s air support unit deployed a helicopter to search for the vehicle. The helicopter successfully located the stolen car at a residence on Charlie Norris Road in Madison County.
Upon confirmation of the vehicle’s location, units from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department swiftly converged on the scene. Eyewitness reports indicated that several individuals fled the area as law enforcement arrived. Three suspects, who attempted to escape in another vehicle, were intercepted and detained for questioning.
Authorities have stated that the recovery of the vehicle marks an important step in the investigation. Lexington Police are handling the theft of the vehicle, while the Madison County Sheriff’s Office is focusing on the receiving of stolen property.
