Trinity Global Methodist Church Organizes Snack Collection Drive for Thomson-Hood Veterans Center Amid Budget Cuts

Frankfort, KY – Trinity Global Methodist Church is set to launch a snack collection drive aimed at supporting the residents of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. The collection will take place on Saturday, November 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Kroger East, followed by a second collection on Sunday, November 10, at the church itself, located on U.S. 460 Georgetown Road.

This initiative is in direct response to recent budget cuts and changes to nutritional programs at the federal level, which have significantly impacted the availability of soft drinks, snack foods, and personal care items for the 117 veterans living at Thomson-Hood.

The church encourages community members to donate canned soft drinks and snack foods. Many veterans at Thomson-Hood are now relying on personal funds or family support to procure these items, as they are no longer included in the center’s budget. This outreach is in honor of Veterans Day, which falls on Monday, November 11, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting American war heroes.

Trinity Global Methodist Church has a history of supporting local veterans, and this year’s drive underscores their commitment to ensuring that those who served the nation are remembered and cared for, especially during significant times like Veterans Day.

For those looking to contribute, the church emphasizes the importance of community involvement in making a significant impact on the lives of veterans who may otherwise struggle to access these essential comforts.

As the event approaches, community members are urged to come out and show their support by donating to this worthy cause, helping to brighten the lives of Thomson-Hood residents.
