Covington, Kentucky – Senator Chris McDaniel has been awarded the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce MVP Award, recognizing his significant contributions to the business community during the 2024 Kentucky General Assembly. The award was presented at the recent Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Eggs n’ Issues luncheon.
The Kentucky Chamber highlighted that Sen. McDaniel was part of a select group of legislators who “went to bat” for Kentucky business. His efforts included displaying leadership in passing critical legislation that aimed to strengthen business, enhance competitiveness, and promote economic growth.
As the chair of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee, Sen. McDaniel was instrumental in the passage of Kentucky’s two-year state budget. This budget not only focused on child care funding but also made significant investments in key areas such as education, workforce, and economic development.
The 2024 General Assembly was pivotal for advancing many top priorities of the Kentucky business community. According to the Kentucky Chamber, the pro-growth policies set forth during this session resulted in estimated savings of $1.006 billion for Kentucky businesses, equating to approximately $589 saved for each employer in the Commonwealth.
Recipients of the Kentucky Chamber MVP Award demonstrate strong leadership by sponsoring or carrying Chamber priority legislation to final passage, leading critical legislation aimed at improving Kentucky, or making tough votes to support business initiatives.
For further insights on the business issues addressed during the 2024 Kentucky General Assembly, the Kentucky Chamber has released a publication titled “Results for Business.” This document outlines the achievements and legislative priorities that shaped Kentucky’s business landscape in recent months.
Sen. McDaniel’s recognition underscores the importance of active legislative engagement in fostering a favorable business environment in Kentucky.
