The award presentation of the much-anticipated 2024 Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year by Saint Joseph Jessamine took place at the CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations’ Humankindness Gala in May. Operating as a faith-based health system and noted as one of the largest in Kentucky, CHI Saint Joseph Health annually honors staff members who exceed their standard duties and embody the organization’s core values. This year’s Employee of the Year distinction goes to Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, Erica Coup.
Residing in Nicholasville, Erica Coup’s chief responsibility involves generating images of the body’s internal structure using a CT scanner. According to one of her colleagues who nominated her, “Erica demonstrates our core values in every interaction with patients and co-workers.” Having such an essential role within the health care industry, Erica has carved out a remarkable niche for herself and the recognition has aptly spotlighted her contributions.
The award for Leader of the Year was bestowed upon Patsy Harlow, a lab services supervisor from Versailles. Patsy’s outstanding leadership and managerial skills set her apart in the organization. Described as “sweet, kind, compassionate, kind, kindred-spirited, honest, and hard-working” by the person who nominated her, Patsy has made an indelible impression on her team and extended work environment.
“She covers all shifts for her employees. She always has a kind word for everyone and offers to help others if they need her. She is an extraordinary leader. She leads by example. She goes above and beyond her call of duty. She displays kindness to everyone,” praised her nominator.
These two prominent awards were accompanied by numerous recognitions across the state. Notably, Chris Clark, a Nicholasville resident, was recognized as an Advanced Practice Provider within the CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group sector. Without a doubt, the contributions of these devoted professionals significantly improve the welfare and health outcomes of the communities they serve.
The Humankindness Gala produced by CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations presents an excellent opportunity to spotlight the tireless efforts, dedication, and talents within the Kentucky health care system. These awards not only demonstrate that there is an appreciation for the honorees’ work, but they also inspire their peers to aspire to continuously improve the health care industry within the state.
