LEXINGTON, Ky. — Four individuals have been arrested following a police chase that began around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The chase originated from the area of Russell Cave Road after officers attempted a traffic stop.
According to police reports, a vehicle fled the scene, prompting a nearby helicopter to follow. The vehicle ultimately parked in Woodland Park, where three individuals exited and attempted to flee on foot. Police apprehended two of these individuals, while a third escaped.
The helicopter tracked the fleeing suspect, who was subsequently picked up in another vehicle. The pursuit continued to a residence on Folkstone, where the vehicle was parked in a driveway. Officers apprehended two additional individuals at the home, who are expected to face charges related to trafficking fentanyl.
In a significant development during the operation, police recovered six firearms. Authorities have expressed concern regarding the implications of both the firearms and the fentanyl trafficking charges.
