Detectives Seek Leads in Woodland Park Pipe Bomb Investigation as Community Cooperation Remains Crucial

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Over a month has passed since a pipe bomb was discovered in Woodland Park, and local detectives continue to seek leads in the case.

On September 22, around 10:30 a.m., an individual found the suspicious device and promptly reported it to a nearby fire station. According to Detective Kristyn Klingshirn of the Lexington Police Department, the authorities have yet to identify the person who turned in the device or receive any eyewitness accounts from that day.

Detective Klingshirn expressed gratitude for the individual’s quick action but desired more information. “We hope that the person who found the device will come forward again,” Klingshirn stated, hinting at the necessity for a clearer understanding of the situation.

In an effort to advance the investigation, authorities are appealing to the community for any tips regarding the incident. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.

Detective Klingshirn also provided guidance on how to identify a suspicious device. She urged the public to be vigilant and report anything unusual immediately.

As the investigation continues, Lexington Police remain determined to locate the person responsible for the dangerous incident. Community cooperation is seen as a crucial component in solving the case and ensuring public safety.

Authorities encourage anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to reach out and contribute to the ongoing investigation. Such civic engagement is vital in maintaining the safety and security of the community.
