New Family-Friendly Restaurant to Open in Former Shamrocks Location in Lexington

Lexington, KY – A new family-friendly restaurant is set to take the place of the recently vacated Shamrocks pub at 4750 Hartland Parkway, Suite 128. The location, which is near Kroger and other local dining options like Freshie’s Ice Cream & Soda Fountain and Common Grounds Coffee House, has been leased by restaurateurs Brad Scott and Bryce Steel, who are also behind the successful Chevy Chase establishment, AP Suggins.

The upcoming restaurant is currently under development, with a projected opening date in the spring of 2025. Scott indicated that they are in the process of finalizing the restaurant’s name, which will reflect the essence of the well-loved AP Suggins. “It will be 80% Suggins’ menu, probably, with some spin on it. Some things that we want to do outside the Suggins’ menu,” said Scott.

The 4,700-square-foot space will undergo a complete remodel, featuring a sizable bar area with seating for 145 people. Plans include a _garage-style door_ to create an inviting atmosphere, as well as multiple televisions for patrons to enjoy watching sports. The new establishment will offer dinner service from Monday to Friday, with brunch, lunch, and dinner available all day on Saturday and Sunday.

The previous tenant, Shamrocks, known for its Irish-themed sports bar ambiance and menu items like the O’Round and Roethlisberger burgers, closed its doors in May and relocated to the Brannon Crossing area. “Shamrocks was there for a long time and did a great job. Now they’ve moved on. We feel like this fits our niche, neighborhood, and families,” Scott explained.

With Scott’s son, Blake, joining the venture, the duo aims to provide a relaxing and family-oriented dining experience. They hope their new restaurant can fill the void left by Shamrocks and cater to the community’s needs.

The team behind this initiative also operates other popular local restaurants, including The Tulip on Romany and BLVD on Hays Boulevard, which will continue to remain open. The new venture aligns with their focus on neighborhood dining, emphasizing a causal and comfortable atmosphere.

For local residents eager to see this new addition, it promises to become a hub for family dining while balancing the spirit of comfort food with a lively social scene.
