NCAA Baseball Tournament Makes a Historic Return to Lexington
Lexington, KY – The city of Lexington is set to host the renowned NCAA Baseball Tournament for a historic second consecutive year. The University of Kentucky (UK) Baseball team has managed to secure their placement in the postseason tournament back-to-back for the first time in the school’s history. The Wildcats will host the regional portion of the championship from May 31-June 3 at the Kentucky Proud Park.
Successful Season for the Wildcats
The Wildcats are sailing into the tournament with an impressive 40-14 record. Kentucky baseball has had a season to remember, clinching a share of the Southeastern Conference regular season title for the second time in school history. The Wildcats’ noteworthy achievement has set the scene for an exciting tournament, with high expectations placed on the home team.
Selection Show and Schedule
The teams gracing Lexington along with the Wildcats, as well as the rest of the tournament field, will be revealed during the Selection Show airing on Monday at noon ET. On the same day, NCAA will announce whether the University of Kentucky is among the eight national seeds that would host the Super Regional round. The following are the tentative dates for each stage of the tournament:
- Regionals: Friday-Monday, May 31-June 3
- Super Regionals: Friday-Sunday, June 7-9 or Saturday-Monday, June 8-10
- First Day of Mens College World Series (MCWS) Games: Start Friday, June 14
- MCWS Finals: Saturday-Monday, June 22-23/24
