Fazoli’s Celebrates National Breadstick Day with Free Garlic Breadsticks Promotion

LEXINGTON — In a delicious celebration of its iconic menu item, Fazoli’s is gearing up for National Breadstick Day by offering customers a tasty deal. From October 25 to October 27, the quick-service Italian chain will provide six free garlic breadsticks with any in-store or online purchase, utilizing the promo code BREADSTICK6.

Fazoli’s, which originated in Lexington in 1988, has built a strong following for its beloved breadsticks. “We have developed quite a following and reputation for our breadsticks, so it is only fitting that we roll out a deal that will stick for our fans — a three-day celebration,” stated Tisha Bartlett, vice president of marketing at Fazoli’s.

This promotion comes during a time of rich history for the chain, well known for its concept of unlimited breadsticks for dine-in customers. This idea was initially developed by Kuni Toyoda, a Hall of Fame member of Fazoli’s, in the early 1990s. Toyoda, who owned five franchises in Lexington at the time, also went on to create several popular local restaurants.

Since its inception, Fazoli’s has grown substantially. Originally named Gratzi’s before the rebranding in 1989, the chain has gone through numerous milestones. It first opened its doors outside Kentucky in 1991 and reached its 50th restaurant in 1994.

The corporate office remains stationed in Lexington, located on Palumbo Drive, and supports more than 200 Fazoli’s locations in 26 states across the country. The office includes a culinary test kitchen and encompasses various support functions like human resources and IT.

Despite changes over the years, including ownership transitions, Fazoli’s has managed to maintain its status as the largest quick-service Italian chain in the United States. The company has faced challenges in the rapidly evolving restaurant industry, including shifts in consumer preferences, particularly concerning low-carb diets.

The ongoing celebration of National Breadstick Day not only highlights Fazoli’s commitment to its iconic offerings but also serves as a reminder of its enduring legacy. With the promotion available over three days, the restaurant chain invites everyone to take part in the festivities and enjoy a taste of what makes Fazoli’s a distinctive part of the Lexington dining experience.
