Blue Grass Airport has indicated that they are bracing for a significant surge in passenger traffic this year. With an expected increase of about 15-20%, the airport could potentially see their busiest weekends in recent times. The airport has introduced a couple of new routes over the past year, including non-stop flights to Las Vegas and daily flights to Denver. Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly, to avoid any last-minute hitches.
“We urge all travelers to give themselves a generous 90-minute cushion before their flight. It’s also a good idea to download the mobile app of your airline to stay updated on your flight status,” advised a community relations representative.

According to an estimation, more than 500,000 Kentuckians are set to travel during the long weekend, which accounts for about 11% of the state’s total population.
