Lexington – Two pedestrians sustained injuries after a vehicle crashed into a building on Camelot Drive late Thursday afternoon. The incident took place shortly after 5 PM in the 3700 block of Camelot Drive, and both injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Reports indicate that one of the victims suffered serious injuries; however, no details on their current condition have been released. Fortunately, the building involved in the crash was not critically damaged according to authorities. While no criminal charges are expected from this incident, a crash reconstruction unit has been dispatched to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.

This incident forms part of a series of vehicle-related accidents in Lexington. In a separate incident at the intersection of West Main and North Broadway, the driver of a Lextran bus was reported to be driving the wrong way. Both drivers involved in that collision were hospitalized but are expected to recover from their non-life-threatening injuries.

In another notable event, a vehicle crashed into a frame shop owned by Kelly Chaffins following an incident involving an intoxicated 19-year-old driver. This individual will face charges for driving under the influence in connection with the crash. Following this accident, part of North Lake Drive and North Church Drive was closed for approximately 45 minutes to allow for cleanup and assessment of the situation.

Chaffins expressed determination to resume operations at her shop by the upcoming holiday season, working diligently to complete the necessary cleanup from the accident within the week.

Additionally, a gas leak was discovered at a building linked to a separate vehicle crash at a Biscuitville on Winston Road. The driver involved in this incident has been arrested, and the investigation is currently ongoing as emergency crews respond to the situation.

As investigations continue into these various incidents, local authorities are focused on ensuring community safety and addressing any hazards resulting from these collisions. Residents are advised to remain cautious and report any unsafe driving behaviors or conditions to the appropriate authorities.
