Faezon Odom, 21, has been charged with murder and was already in custody on unrelated charges at the Fayette County Detention Center when the murder charge was filed. Tyrese Ingram, 20, was arrested in Louisville based on a warrant for his involvement in the murder and is presently awaiting extradition to Fayette County.

Gaston-Garner was shot on the 3400 block of River Park Drive and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Upon the police’s arrival around 2 a.m., they found Jackson lying in the street, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later.

The Fayette County Coroner’s office has confirmed that Jackson died from gunshot wounds. Following this incident, city officials and community advocates have expressed heightened concerns over gun violence, calling for collective action to address the issue. Mayor Linda Gorton has extended condolences to the families affected by these tragedies, emphasizing the sorrow that accompanies incidents of gun violence.
