Lexington is reeling after a heartbreaking weekend as police investigate two separate fatal shootings that left the community in shock. The first incident occurred on Thursday at a local motel, and the second tragedy unfolded just days later on Sunday.

The First Tragedy at Sportsman Motel

In a devastating turn of events, 27-year-old Helen Taylor of Lexington was found dead inside her motel room at the Sportsman Motel located on Winchester Road. Police arrived at the scene around 11:19 a.m. following reports of “unknown trouble.” Sadly, they found Taylor unresponsive, and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office later confirmed she had succumbed to a gunshot wound.

This incident has left many community members feeling distressed and questioning their safety. While the police continue to investigate, they have not yet disclosed any potential suspects or leads. The Lexington Police Department is urging anyone with any information about the shooting to come forward. Second Incident on Fairmont Court
