Lexington Residents Check Pockets After $25,000 Per Year Lottery Ticket Sold

Lexington residents are urged to check their pockets and purses after a winning lottery ticket was sold in the city. The Kentucky Lottery announced on Wednesday that a ticket for the Lucky for Life game, worth $25,000 per year for at least 20 years, was purchased at a gas station on Southland Drive.

The winning ticket was sold for the drawing that took place on Tuesday, November 19. The ticket matched five of the six numbers drawn, securing the second-tier prize. The specific winning numbers were 7, 10, 17, 24, 26, with the Lucky Ball being 13.

Players in the Lucky for Life game choose five white ball numbers and one Lucky Ball. Alternatively, they can opt for a quick pick, where a computer generates the numbers. Tickets cost $2 each, with the top prize offering a choice between $1,000 a day for life or a lump sum of $5.75 million. However, the odds of winning the top prize are challenging, at 1 in 30,821,472.

The winning ticket was sold at Southland BP, located at 531 Southland Drive. Players are encouraged to sign the backs of their tickets and store them in a safe location. To claim their prizes, winners must do so within 180 days and are required to visit the agency’s headquarters in Louisville for high amounts. For the current winner, the cash option for the prize amounts to $390,000.

The Kentucky Lottery reminds winners to contact their office at 1-877-789-4532 for more information and to schedule an appointment for claiming their winnings. In a similar instance earlier this year, another $25,000 a year “for life” winner was reported, though details regarding that winner’s collection remain unclear.

Players are urged to remain vigilant and check their tickets, as this untapped fortune could significantly impact the winner’s life. Whether it’s for immediate use or long-term investments, the lucky recipient of this ticket has a golden opportunity ahead.
