We are now doing our complete streets, which has to do with making sure we have bicycle lanes, curbs, and gutters, all the features that make a road safer,” Mayor Gorton said.
In terms of pollution, Lexington is reported to have the second-best drinking water quality with relatively low air pollution levels.
Safety

Although Lexington ranks high on the list, Mayor Gorton recognizes that there’s still room for improvement and that no city is perfect. “We encourage our people to be a part of everything. We’re very transparent here. Cities need transparency so that the community knows what we’re doing.” She concluded.
