Lexington Police Seek Public Assistance in Homicide Investigation Following Fatal Shooting on Chinoe Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating two individuals implicated in a shooting that occurred on Chinoe Road, leading to the death of a 35-year-old man.

The incident unfolded on November 30 at approximately 6:45 p.m. when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1000 block of Chinoe Road. Upon arrival, police discovered Gregory Williams suffering from a gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries on December 1 at the hospital, as confirmed by the coroner.

Law enforcement has identified the primary suspect as Jeremiah Mitchell, who is wanted for murder, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and second-degree criminal mischief. In addition to these charges, Mitchell faces warrants for failure to appear in court and violations of conditions of release.

The second suspect, Alexis Compton, is wanted for complicity in the murder. Authorities have not disclosed her specific involvement in the shooting.

The police department has urged anyone with information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020. Individuals are also encouraged to submit tips online.

This tragic incident has raised concerns within the community, prompting local law enforcement to intensify their efforts in seeking justice for Williams and ensuring public safety.
