Lexington Police Investigate 12th Homicide of 2024 Following Early Morning Shooting

Lexington, Kentucky – Detectives with the Lexington Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred early Friday morning. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of Russell Cave Road at approximately 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified by the Fayette County coroner as 25-year-old Jaquan Grundy from Louisville.

This incident marks the city’s 12th homicide of 2024, raising concerns about ongoing violence in the area. As of now, police have not disclosed any details regarding potential suspects involved in the incident.
