Lexington Parks and Recreation Unveils Free Outdoor Movie Series “Freaky Flicks” for Summer 2023

Lexington, Kentucky — Residents are invited to enjoy their summer evenings with a series of free outdoor movie screenings hosted by the Lexington Parks and Recreation Department. Dubbed “Freaky Flicks,” this community event is set to take place at select park locations throughout July and August.

The movie nights will begin on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, and will continue every Wednesday evening until August 30, 2023. Each screening will commence at dusk, providing families with an opportunity to gather and enjoy family-friendly films under the stars.

This initiative aims to foster a sense of community while promoting public spaces for entertainment and socialization. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to fully enjoy the experience together.

The featured films will range from classic favorites to new releases, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. The Parks and Recreation Department emphasizes the importance of community-building events like these, which not only entertain but also strengthen neighborhood bonds.

All screenings are free to attend, making it an accessible option for residents looking to spend quality time with friends and family without the burden of cost. The event organizers recommend checking local listings for specific film titles and park locations.

The Lexington Parks and Recreation Department continues to promote community engagement through various recreational activities. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about other events by visiting the city’s official website or subscribing to their updates.

For additional information regarding the Freaky Flicks schedule or other community events, the public can reach out to their local parks office or connect through community social media channels.
