Lexington, Ky. – A local man is facing multiple charges after allegedly pistol-whipping his neighbor during a heated confrontation. John Nation has been charged with assault, wanton endangerment, and possessing a handgun as a convicted felon.
The incident reportedly stems from an ongoing dispute between Nation and the victim, which escalated on October 9. According to the police report, tensions rose after the victim had spoken to Nation’s romantic partner in the past, leading Nation to harass and threaten the victim whenever they crossed paths.
On the day of the incident, law enforcement stated that Nation confronted the victim while armed. In a dangerous display, he allegedly fired his weapon at the victim multiple times. The confrontation escalated further when Nation struck the victim in the head with the gun.
Following the incident, authorities apprehended Nation, who is currently held at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond. Police continue to investigate the encounter and its underlying motives.
The community is shaken by the violent nature of the altercation, which underscores concerns around gun violence and the safety of neighborhoods in the area. Citizens are reminded to report any threats or suspicious behavior to local authorities.
This case serves as a troubling reminder of the potential for conflict and violence in personal disputes, particularly involving firearms.
