Lexington to Host Go Red for Women Experience Celebrating 100 Years of the American Heart Association

Lexington is set to host a significant event in celebration of the American Heart Association’s 100th anniversary, the Go Red for Women Experience. This occasion aims to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease while honoring those who have survived this critical health issue.

The event will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Central Bank Center, located at 430 W. Vine Street, Downtown Lexington. Registration and a “Sip and Shop” session will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the main luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m..

Co-chairs Patty Smith and Kim Durrum are spearheading the program this year. They emphasize the importance of this event in uniting the community to address heart disease, which affects both women and men but disproportionately impacts women.

The luncheon will feature discussions about heart health, survivor stories, and the ongoing efforts to combat cardiovascular disease. Participants will also have an opportunity to connect with others who share a commitment to improving heart health in their communities.

Tickets are available for purchase through the event’s online platform or by contacting the event coordinator via email. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spots early, as demand is expected to be high for this important gathering.

The Go Red for Women Experience not only serves to raise awareness but also promotes proactive health measures to reduce the risk of heart disease. As the American Heart Association marks this milestone, it aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to lead healthier lives.

For those looking to get involved or support the cause, there are numerous opportunities available. Participation in the luncheon is just one way to contribute to the mission of improving heart health for all.

As the community comes together for this notable anniversary, the focus remains clear: recognizing survivors and fostering a dialogue around cardiovascular health is essential for a healthier future.
