Lexington Police Department to Host Annual Faith & Blue Event on October 7, 2023

Lexington, KY — The Lexington Police Department is set to host its annual Faith & Blue event, designed to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community. This event will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Moore Park, located at 1184 N. Broadway.

Faith & Blue is a national initiative that encourages collaboration between police departments and local faith-based organizations. The event aims to foster dialogue, build trust, and create opportunities for partnerships that can address various community concerns, particularly those related to safety and well-being.

During the event, attendees will enjoy various activities, including free food, games for children, and a chance to engage directly with local police officers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Community leaders and clergy members are expected to speak, highlighting the importance of cooperation between law enforcement and neighborhoods.

“We invite everyone to join us for this day of community connection,” said a police spokesperson. “It’s an opportunity for us to listen, engage, and work together towards making our city a better place.”

This initiative reflects a commitment to transparency and open communication. Participants can share their concerns and experiences with law enforcement, aiding in the development of more effective policing strategies that consider community input.

The Lexington Police Department emphasizes that fostering trust in the community is essential for maintaining public safety. This event not only allows for the strengthening of relationships but also serves as a platform for community members to feel heard and valued.

The Faith & Blue event is open to individuals and families of all ages, marking it as a significant and inclusive occasion for the Lexington community. Residents are encouraged to bring their friends and join local law enforcement in a positive setting.

Those interested in attending are reminded to mark their calendars for this pivotal day aimed at bridging gaps between the police and the community they serve.
