One of the most beloved musicals, Fiddler on the Roof, is now playing at the Lexington Opera House. Brought to you by The Lexington Theatre Company, often known as The Lex, the production boasts of an ensemble of Broadway veterans and fresh talent. The play will run from July 11 to 14.
The star-studded cast includes Ari Axelrod, known for his work in The Jewish Week “36 To Watch Award,” in the lead role of Tevye. His performances have created quite a stir, and he is considered one of the 36 most influential Jews in the US. Other notable artists include Gina Lamparella, who previously worked in Broadway’s Fiddler on the Roof; she will play Golde. Simultaneously, Margo Buchanan from the Miracle on 34th Street will captivate audiences as Yente.
Joining them on stage will be rising stars and recent college graduates. Eliza Levy and Zoe Mezoff from the University of Cincinnati – CCM will play Tzeitel and Hodel, respectively. Sophie Liu David, an alumna of Northwestern University, will play Chava.
Along with the leading cast, the ensemble will include Ari Barmor from the University of Oklahoma (as Motel) and Jordan Radis from Emerson College (as Perchik). Local favorites Wesley Byers (as Fyedka), Tim X Davis (as Lazar Wolf), and David Lin (as The Fiddler) will also lend their talents.
A key highlight of this theatrical experience will be the performances by two talented Central Kentucky youths – Taylinn Dickens as Shprintze and Ileana Worhunsky as Bielke. The remainder of the supporting roles is filled by Lexington’s favorite local actors, adding a touch of local flair to the grand production.
Lyndy Franklin Smith, a Broadway veteran, serves as the Artistic Director for The Lex and directs this production of the Fiddler on the Roof. Colby Q. Lindeman, whose stellar work was noticed in Broadway’s Wicked, choreographs the production. Moreover, Lexington Orchestra, led by Dr. Brock Terry, will provide the musical backdrop for this iconic tale.

As reflected in its cast for Fiddler on the Roof, it successfully blends seasoned Broadway veterans, promising actors, and college students from across the country.
