Lexington Residents Prepare to Vote on Key Community Issues for 2025

LEXINGTON, Ky. – This coming Monday, over 350 residents will converge to cast their votes on the city’s most pressing community issue for 2025. The gathering, organized by the BUILD organization, follows a two-month initiative during which nearly 500 participants shared their concerns regarding pressing issues such as housing instability and substance abuse.

The event is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. at the Consolidated Baptist Church, located on Russell Cave Road. The outcome of this vote will play a crucial role in shaping the advocacy efforts and community projects that BUILD will undertake throughout the upcoming year.

The voting event is a culmination of extensive listening sessions aimed at identifying the critical issues affecting Lexington residents. According to faith leaders involved with BUILD, this democratic process amplifies community voices, ensuring that the selected issue reflects the collective concerns of Lexington’s diverse population.

Participants in the listening sessions expressed the need for focused action on various challenges, leading to the decision to host the vote. This gathering is part of a broader commitment to fostering engagement and addressing the significant challenges faced by community members.

As the clock ticks toward the event, the excitement among residents is palpable, with the expectation that the selected issue will guide the community’s efforts and resources over the next year. It presents an opportunity for the citizens of Lexington to engage directly in decisions that will affect their lives and neighborhoods in the near future.

Community members interested in participating should prepare to join their neighbors in this vital democratic process. The outcome of the vote not only indicates which issue will be prioritized but also sets the stage for collective action and advocacy initiatives moving forward.
