LEXINGTON – Residents of Lexington are invited to celebrate the second annual Lexington Bourbon Week, a 10-day event dedicated to bourbon culture, mixology, and the local dining scene. The festivities will take place from November 7 to November 16, 2024.
This celebration is produced by Smiley Pete Publishing in collaboration with presenting sponsor E.J. Curley Bourbon. A total of 19 local restaurants and bars will participate, each showcasing an exclusive cocktail that highlights E.J. Curley Bourbon as well as selections from local distillery partners, Log Still and BeSpoken.
Highlighted cocktail offerings include a Latin-inspired Horchata Bourbon at Mazunte Bodega, Paw Paw’s Delight at Kentucky Castle featuring True Story Rye, and Chocolate Fig Bourbon at Barrel 53. Local mixology twists feature an Apple Butter Old-Fashioned at Belle’s Cocktail House and a Maple Sidecar at Paddock Bourbon Club. With crafted ingredients like blackberry thyme simple syrup and pear liqueur, the cocktail selections promise a diverse array of flavors.
Additionally, the Chevy Chase Inn and Charlie Brown’s are collaborating to offer patrons a special deal where they can taste cocktails from both establishments at a discounted rate. A full list of cocktails and details about the week-long event can be found on the official Lexington Bourbon Week website.
As the presenting sponsor, E.J. Curley Bourbon is set to return to its historic roots in Jessamine County, where it was first established in 1867. The Small Batch Bourbon, created by master blender Ashley Barnes, offers a well-balanced flavor profile with notes of wild honeysuckle and earthy tobacco.
A special event hosted by Liquor Barn Hamburg will feature Ashley Barnes on November 8, from 5-8 p.m.. This will provide guests with insights into the bourbon blending process as well as the opportunity to obtain a signed bottle.
Participants are encouraged to download the Lexington Bourbon Week app to check in and vote for their favorite cocktails, providing opportunities to win various prizes, including tours and tastings at local distilleries.
With its unique offerings and a vibrant local spirit, Lexington Bourbon Week is set to showcase the best of Kentucky’s bourbon culture and its local culinary innovations.
