Lexington Ballet Celebrates 50th Season with Enchanting Performances of “The Nutcracker”

Lexington, Ky. — The Lexington Ballet is set to enchant audiences with performances of “The Nutcracker”, featuring beloved characters such as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen. This holiday classic will run for eight performances from December 13-15 and December 20-22 at the Lexington Opera House.

As part of Lexington Ballet’s 50th season, these performances promise to be a festive highlight for the community. The production will showcase the combined talents of the ballet’s school and professional company, creating a memorable experience for attendees. Mia Isaac, the CEO of Lexington Ballet, expressed pride in this year’s offerings, stating, “LBC is proud this season to bring you thrilling world premieres, mounting new productions and promising innovative choreography.”

The ballet company aims to celebrate its rich history by weaving in new works and collaborating with local talent, continuing to highlight important storybook ballets. Notably, this production of “The Nutcracker” marks the start of a vibrant anniversary season.

Tickets for “The Nutcracker” are available through various platforms, including Ticketmaster, the Lexington Opera House website, and the Lexington Ballet website. Patrons can also purchase tickets in person at the Central Bank Center Box Office, open from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.

In addition to the holiday classic, Lexington Ballet is planning other celebratory performances throughout the season, including “Local Legacy: Celebrating 50 Years of Lexington Ballet with Ben Sollee” on February 21-22, 2025, and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on April 25-26, 2025, all taking place at the Lexington Opera House.
