Lexington is gearing up to celebrate its 250th birthday with an exciting lineup of events throughout the month of April, dubbed 250Lex Month of Music. From April 1 to April 30, the city invites residents and visitors to enjoy a diverse array of live music and cultural events, showcasing various genres such as jazz, bluegrass, and rock ’n’ roll at numerous venues across town.
Daily performances will take centerstage at locations ranging from intimate dive bars to grand concert halls, along with open-air spaces, allowing music lovers of all kinds to participate in the festivities. Notable highlights of the month include performances from well-known artists and bands, promising a dynamic and engaging experience for attendees.
The month kicks off with Flore Laurentienne scheduled to perform on April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Singletary Center for the Arts. The excitement continues on April 5 with Johnbern Thomas presenting A Night of Haitian Infused Jazz at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, starting at 7 p.m.

In addition to music, Lexington is hosting several art exhibitions throughout the month. The International Women’s Show 2025, featuring over 40 artworks, will be available for viewing until April 13 at Mill & Max Contemplative Arts Space. The RELICS exhibition at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center Community Gallery showcases local artists’ works until May 3.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy the Dopa Mine exhibition, featuring works by David Kaiser available at the 2nd Story until May 3, and the Collected Memory showcase at Lexington Public Library Central Gallery, which highlights historic artifacts from 250 years of Lexington’s history, on display until July 13.
