In a stake to bolster the blood supply in Kentucky, the Central Bank Center has once again joined forces with the Kentucky Blood Center this year. This is the second time the two institutions are collaborating to host a blood drive, signaling their commitment to contribute towards the medical community.
Throughout the duration of the blood donation campaign, from May 28th up until June 29th, every individual partaking in this humanitarian act by donating their blood will automatically enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Taylor Swift’s concert taking place in Indianapolis on November 3. In addition to the coveted concert tickets, the triumphant donor will also receive a $500 gift card to aid in their travel expenses.
Contributing more than just their blood, donors will walk away with a Taylor Swift-inspired t-shirt and a LexLive movie voucher. Furthermore, each participant will be automatically included in a draw to win a pair of passes to the Basketball Tournament, scheduled for July 19th to 23rd at Rupp Arena.
The Blood Drive is due to take place on June 27th in Club C, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Essential details for prospective donors include a requirement to be at least 17 years old, weighing at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. Prospective donors are required to exhibit a valid photo ID and must meet additional requirements. With regards to 16-year-old donors, they are welcome to donate too, provided they have a signed parental slip. Although appointments are favorable, walk-ins are equally welcomed.
To book an appointment or receive more information regarding donation, prospective donors are encouraged to visit the Kentucky Blood Center’s official site.
In a world where medical emergencies and needs are always increasing, this initiative of the Central Bank Center in association with the Kentucky Blood Center to conduct a blood donation drive is certainly a commendable step, giving residents a chance to do their part for the community while offering enticing prizes to sweeten the deal. Here’s to hoping such initiatives continue to gain momentum and bring about positive changes in local communities.
