Kentucky State Police Investigating Tragic Accidental Shooting in Estill County

Incident took place on Friday afternoon, 14-year-old victim pronounced dead.

Estill County, Kentucky- A somber atmosphere weighs over Estill County as Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigate an accidental shooting. The incident took place on Clark Rd in Irvine, shortly before 1.30 p.m. Friday afternoon, tragically concluding with the death of a 14-year-old child.

Startling Details of the Incident

Initial reports from official statements released by KSP suggest that the accidental shooter was a 13-year-old child. The unfortunate event occurred outside of a residential home. Despite immediate life-saving efforts conducted at the scene, the teen-aged victim could not be saved.

The Estill County Coroner officially pronounced the 14-year-old victim dead on site. The names of both involved parties have been withheld due to their minor statuses, and the privacy of their families is being respectfully maintained during this difficult time.

Investigation Continues, Foul Play Not Suspected
