Jubilee Jobs of Lexington Empowers Nearly 600 Individuals to Overcome Employment Barriers in 2023

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jubilee Jobs of Lexington is dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming employment barriers. The organization focuses on helping clients find, obtain, and maintain meaningful work. CEO Mason King elaborates, “They learn about soft skills, how to interview, navigate conflict, and create a resume.” With comprehensive support, the organization aims to see clients secure their jobs.

In 2023 alone, Jubilee Jobs has successfully assisted nearly 600 individuals, enabling their employment at over 200 local employers across central Kentucky. This diverse range of job placements includes entry-level factory positions and even roles at municipal offices.

King emphasizes the broader impact of employment: “There are 1100 minor children in the homes of the clients we served this year alone. Jobs keep families together, provide food on the table, and stimulate local economies.” With a commitment to community upliftment, Jubilee Jobs also operates several programs aimed at addressing specific needs.

One such initiative is the resource connection program, which includes the Black Male Working Academy and the Second Chance Academy. This last program is designed for individuals exiting incarceration, offering seven weeks of pre-release training followed by a year of support. King proudly notes, “We’ve seen 101 graduates over the last year with a 95 percent compliance rate. This success means these individuals are staying out of jail and actively rebuilding their lives.”

Jubilee Jobs recognizes that employment is a crucial factor in reducing recidivism rates. The resources they offer aim to break cycles of addiction and generational incarceration, providing participants with a renewed sense of purpose. “It’s so much more than jobs. It’s about the dignity, hope, and self-worth that comes from knowing that my life isn’t over because of past mistakes,” King said.

The organization’s orientation classes and programs reflect a structured approach to secure a stable future for their clients. Interested individuals can find information on how to get started through Jubilee Jobs.
