Jessamine County, Kentucky will soon host its Second Annual Artisan Fair, taking place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Jessamine County Public Library (JCPL). This exciting event aims to showcase the talents of local artisans while offering attendees the chance to purchase unique, handmade goods.
The Artisan Fair will feature a diverse lineup of local artists who will demonstrate their crafts and sell their creations. Attendees can look forward to a variety of handmade items, including hand-thrown pottery, bespoke jewelry, and much more. Notable demonstrations will include cookie decorating by BakeMiaCake, yarn spinning by Alyssa Kilanowski, needle felting by Dana Wolford, and glass blowing by Mobile Glass Studios, among others.
According to Kate Irwin, JCPL’s Programming Coordinator of Special Events, “Our goal is to provide local artists and craftsmen/women an opportunity to share their creations with the community and to cultivate interest in their creative process.” Irwin emphasizes the event’s aim to inspire attendees to explore their creative potential while celebrating the artistic talent found in Jessamine County.
In addition to the Artisan Fair, the library will be hosting its annual KCAL Old Time Radio Christmas Show on the evenings of December 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., along with a matinee performance on December 15 at 2:30 p.m. All shows are currently sold out, but interested individuals can call to be placed on a waiting list.

Following the Artisan Fair, JCPL will host a Community Holiday Dinner on Friday, December 20, from 4:00 to 6:45 p.m. This dinner will provide another opportunity for community members to come together and celebrate the holiday season.
