Lexington is about to welcome a new dining option as a fast-casual restaurant, Jaggers, begins construction in front of the Kroger grocery store along one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares, Nicholasville Road. This location marks Jaggers’ fourth site in Kentucky, joining three existing restaurants in Louisville.
Located at 2350 Norman Ln., near the Kroger gas station, the new restaurant spans 3,188 square feet and will occupy a 1.08-acre lot within the Regency Centre shopping area, which also includes IHOP, T.J. Maxx, and other retail establishments. The establishment will feature a drive-thru and provide an entrance directly off Nicholasville Road.
Construction is already underway, although an official opening date has not been disclosed. RJ Thieneman, the manager of the shopping center, anticipates that Jaggers will open between the second and third quarter of 2025.
Founded in 2014 by late Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor, Jaggers is known for its menu that emphasizes freshly made items. Offerings include made-to-order double burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and a variety of homemade sauces. Popular burger options include the Bacon Avocado Burger and Sunrise Burger, both served with unique toppings and sauces.
In addition to burgers, Jaggers offers made-to-order salads with an array of dressings, as well as sides like shoestring fries, tater tots, and mac ‘n cheese. The restaurant also features hand-spun milkshakes, with flavors like Ghirardelli Brownie and Banana Split.
Jaggers is part of an expansion strategy that aims for a total of 15 locations nationwide. The brand recently opened a new restaurant location in South Korea, indicating a growing international presence.
As the dining landscape in Lexington evolves, Jaggers is poised to attract food enthusiasts to this bustling area of the city, complementing existing popular eateries such as McAlister’s Deli and Trader Joe’s.
