A patrolling officer found a car obstructed at the intersection of Shropshire Avenue and East Third Street. The male victim found within the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene, ensuing an investigation into his death.
Around 12:25 am on April 30, a police officer inspecting the unusual placement of a car resulted in the discovery of a lifeless body. The victim, found suffering from a gunshot wound, was declared deceased at the scene. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has since identified the victim as 37-year-old Devin Chenault.
An autopsy conducted by the coroner’s office indicated the cause of death to be caused by a gunshot wound. The time of death is reported to be approximately at 1:18 am on Tuesday, April 30.
