LEXINGTON, Ky. — A man has been arrested and faces multiple charges following an incident involving gunfire and physical assault on October 9. John Nation, 38, was taken into custody after police responded to reports of shots fired in the Dalton Court area.
According to a criminal complaint filed by local authorities, the victim claimed that Nation had been harassing and threatening him before the altercation occurred. The victim reported that Nation approached him while brandishing a handgun, firing shots on either side of the victim’s face. Following the gunshots, Nation allegedly struck the victim in the face with the firearm.
During their investigation, police discovered that Nation is a convicted felon, which prohibits him from legally possessing a firearm. As a result, he has been charged with several offenses, including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree wanton endangerment, and second-degree assault.
The incident has raised concerns about gun violence and safety in the neighborhood. Police have emphasized the importance of reporting threatening behavior, especially involving firearms.
Nation is currently being held at the county jail, awaiting further court proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities assess the full scope of the incident.
