Greenup County Health Department to Close Early for Staff Development
Greenup – The Greenup County Health Department will close early at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, to facilitate staff development activities. The department is set to reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19. This temporary closure aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of health department staff to better serve the community.
KCTCS Invites Nominations for Pathfinder Awards
Versailles – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is inviting nominations for the prestigious Pathfinder High School Teacher/Counselor Recognition Award. The nominations are open now and will remain available until December 31. KCTCS is seeking candidates among high school teachers and counselors who demonstrate exceptional support and guidance for students considering further education. A total of 16 awards will be presented across the system’s college service areas.
To qualify, nominees must have:
- Encouraged students to attend a KCTCS college
- Assisted students in identifying a career path
- Provided mentorship
- Maintained communication with students
Winners will be recognized in early 2025 during local high school events and will receive a specially designed award and a prize package.
Mountain Cattlemen’s Association to Host Meeting
Catlettsburg – The Mountain Cattlemen’s Association will hold its fall meeting at 5:30 p.m. on November 26. The event will take place at the Robinson Center for Appalachian Resource Sustainability in Jackson, featuring speakers Jeff Lehmkuhler and Jimmy Henning. A complimentary dinner will be provided to attendees.
