Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs Opens Applications for Summer Startup Program and Collegiate Pitch Competition

Frankfort, Kentucky — The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) has announced that it is now accepting applications for two of its premier programs aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students. The Summer Startup program for high school students and the Collegiate Pitch competition for college-age entrepreneurs will be held in 2025, providing invaluable experiences for young business-minded individuals.

The Summer Startup program will take place in collaboration with the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics. This initiative is designed to immerse high school students in a real-world entrepreneurship environment, where they can develop their business ideas through hands-on learning and mentorship. This program is particularly focused on nurturing creativity and problem-solving skills among young entrepreneurs.

Similarly, the Collegiate Pitch competition will be hosted at Thomas More University, allowing college students the opportunity to pitch their business concepts to a panel of expert judges. This competition is a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and potentially secure funding or support to help launch their ventures.

Applications for both programs are open to Kentucky high school and college students and can be submitted through the official GSE website at kentuckygse.com. These programs are free of charge, ensuring that cost is not a barrier for aspiring entrepreneurs.

With a favorable weather forecast for the upcoming weeks, including partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching a high of 81°F, the atmosphere feels ripe for growth and new ideas. As students embark on their applications, a slight chance of an afternoon shower may serve as inspiration to weather the challenges of entrepreneurship.

Each program promises to transform the entrepreneurial landscape for participants by equipping them with vital skills, resources, and networks necessary for success in today’s competitive business environment. The GSE encourages all eligible students to seize this opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.
