In what seems to be a significant development, leading children’s toy manufacturer Fisher-Price has made a recall of approximately 204,000 units of the popular Little People Mickey and Friends figure sets. The company announced this major move due to a potential choking hazard posed by the heads of two specific figures in the range, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is closely working with Fisher-Price on this issue. According to their reports, the figures’ heads can potentially detach, posing a choking risk to young children. In response, Fisher-Price acted swiftly, issuing the recall for the relevant figure sets to ensure the safety of their young consumers.
The specific toys under this recall, the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures, were sold between May 2023 and February 2024. They were available for purchase across various physical retail outlets such as Walmart, Kohl’s, Meijer, HEB Kroger, and Target, as well as through online channels.
In light of this recall, caution is advised to parents and caregivers of young children who may have these toys. Consumers are urged to immediately halt usage of these figures, ensuring they are kept out of reach from children. Fisher-Price is facilitating returns by providing a pre-paid return label. Once returned, consumers will receive a $10 refund. To ensure consumers can accurately identify the recalled toys, model numbers HPJ88 AND HTW75 have been provided, which can be found on the bottom of the Goofy figure that is also part of the set.
For further information on this recall, consumers can visit Fisher-Price’s official recall webpage or directly contact the company through their customer service number which has been made available.
It should be noted that the recall solely targets the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures included in the figure pack. No other figures or toys within this range are currently being recalled.
This proactive step by Fisher-Price reflects their commitment to consumer safety and product quality. It serves as a reminder to manufacturers of children’s goods about the increased scrutiny in ensuring their products meet the required safety standards. The enforcement of these precautions ensures that the joy of play for children remains a safe and enjoyable experience.
