Fayette County Board of Education District 3 Race Intensifies as Candidate Danny Anthony Everett Calls for Educational Reform

Lexington, KY – The Fayette County Board of Education District 3 race is heating up as Danny Anthony Everett announces his candidacy, aiming to bring significant change to the school district. Everett, a professor with a background in educational leadership, is seeking to replace incumbent Jason Moore in the upcoming election scheduled for November 5, 2024.

Everett’s campaign centers on a vision for a world-class education that prioritizes early childhood engagement and focuses on creating equitable schools for the district’s increasingly diverse student population. He notes that the school district has not kept pace with the city’s growth, declaring that “what has not worked in previous years will never work going forward.” Everett believes that the current system needs innovative strategies and increased communication to address the challenges faced by Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS).

In his efforts to establish himself as a viable candidate, Everett received endorsements from several organizations, including KEPAC, C-Fair, AFL/CIO, and the Teamsters, highlighting his commitment to educational progress and community needs. Additionally, Jason Moore, the current District 3 board member, has chosen to endorse Everett, underscoring a shared vision for improvement within the school system.

The candidate emphasizes the importance of accountability and community engagement, stating his intention to question existing policies and seek solutions that benefit all constituents of FCPS. He expresses concern that the editorial board of a local publication “doesn’t get it,” suggesting a disconnect between community aspirations for progress and the board’s support for maintaining status quo.

As Lexington continues to grow, the demand for effective educational policies becomes increasingly urgent. Everett is calling on residents to support his campaign, emphasizing that under his leadership, students will receive the educational opportunities they deserve.

The upcoming election provides an opportunity for change in the Fayette County Public Schools system, and Danny Anthony Everett is rallying support in a bid to transform the educational landscape for students within District 3.

For more information about his campaign, Everett encourages voters to visit his campaign website and join him in advocating for a better future for all students in Lexington.
