Fatal Car Crash Claims Life of Winchester Resident Mark Henry Speaks in Lexington

Lexington, Ky. – Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred on Tuesday morning. The individual has been named as Mark Henry Speaks, a resident of Winchester.

The incident was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of Winchester Road, near Haley Road. According to police, a single vehicle traveled off the road and came to rest in a wooded area. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that Speaks had been pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner’s office confirmed that the property owner discovered the vehicle and reported the crash. Investigations indicate that the accident likely took place well before it was reported.

As a result of the investigation by the Lexington Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, outbound Winchester Road was temporarily closed at Haley Road. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
