Exciting Weekend Ahead in Lexington with Festivals, Races, and Halloween Events

Lexington is buzzing with excitement this weekend, offering a plethora of activities ranging from local festivals to Halloween-related events. Residents and visitors can choose from family-friendly fun, live music, and various unique experiences from October 25 to 27.

Among the highlights, Keeneland will conclude its coveted Fall Meet on October 27. The event features thoroughbred races, including the $200,000 Myrtlewood, which has been part of the schedule since 2020. Tickets are priced at $10 and are available at 4201 Versailles Rd.

For those seeking local craftsmanship and food, the Void Sake Company is hosting a night market on October 25 from 5-10 p.m.. This free event will showcase local artisans alongside a variety of food trucks at 819 National Ave.

October 25 also sees cultural offerings such as the documentary screening of “Alcohol In Space” at Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. in Frankfort. Attendees can engage in discussions, enjoy stargazing, and even meet author Chris Carberry. Tickets range from free to $35.

Fans of the arts can attend a Halloween-themed drag queen storytime at the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning on October 26 from 11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meanwhile, the Kentucky Ballet Theatre will perform “Dracula” at the Lexington Opera House on the evening of October 26 and in the afternoon on October 27.

Children can enjoy the Boo-Seum event at the Lexington Children’s Museum on October 26, featuring all-day Halloween festivities for just $5. On the same day, there’s the Witches & Wine Festival at Wildside Winery, featuring craft vendors and live music from 12-7 p.m..

On October 27, the much-anticipated Transylvania University’s PumpkinMania Festival will allow families to carve pumpkins and witness over 500 jack-o-lanterns glowing on the steps of Old Morrison. Ticket reservations are free for carving.

In sporting events, UK Football will take on the Auburn Tigers on October 26 at 7:45 p.m. at Kroger Field, while UK Women’s Soccer faces Tennessee the following day at 2 p.m..

This weekend also features unique culinary experiences, such as a bagel-making workshop paired with wine at Harkness Edwards Vineyards on October 26, and a Halloween cocktail class at Chenault Vineyards on October 27.
