In an unprecedented move, the Woodford Humane Society has decided to waive adoption fees for dogs aged six months or older. This gesture has been prompted by a surge in the dog population at the shelter and a decrease in adoption numbers.
A higher influx of dogs combined with low adoption rates has lead the Woodford Humane Society to take this step in order to find forever homes for the animals. The offer was initially introduced on Friday and was supposed to end soon, but considering only two dogs got adopted since then, the offer has been extended until the 22nd.
Although the shelter remains closed on Mondays, appointment bookings for potential adopters are set to start at 10 a.m. this Monday. “We’ll be able to book out all the way through Friday, so anyone who is interested in adopting during this special we just hope we can find the right fit for them”, says Beth Olson, a dedicated staff member at the Woodford Humane Society. The society has an unwavering mission to protect the welfare of animals and believes that every animal deserves a loving home.
For those interested in adopting, the list of available dogs for adoption is available online. This move is expected to encourage potential adopters to take a step forward and provide a safe haven for these animals.
In related news, other events taking place in the vicinity include quarter horse racing at the Red Mile. Safety precautions and regulations continue to be well-adhered during these events.
In another unfortunate incident, two individuals were injured in an early morning shooting, and five people were injured during a car crash on Sunday night. These incidents have brought the community together, with many providing support and aid to those affected.
On a lighter note, local TV programming continues to engage and entertain the community, providing everyone with a necessary respite from the current events.
