The DanceBlue Marathon Moves to Rupp Arena

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The cherished annual tradition, DanceBlue Marathon is making a historic move towards one of the most legendary locations in college basketball, the Rupp Arena. This transition is driven by ongoing renovations in the Memorial Coliseum. The event is allowing dancers an opportunity to tap their feet all night long on the hallowed floor where the Wildcats play. Slated to commence at 8 p.m. on April 6, this fundraiser will continue for 24 hours with a noble cause of raising money for the DanceBlue Clinic.

Participation Encouraged

Participants’ friends and family members are encouraged to lend their support by attending the event live from the stands of Rupp Arena. An online livestream of the DanceBlue event will be accessible for those who can’t attend in person. People not participating in the dance marathon can still experience DanceBlue in Rupp Arena by offering their services as volunteers.

Prospective volunteers, aged 16 or above, can sign up for one of twelve available shifts, the general shift ticket is fixed at $30 while for each meal hour shift ticket, the cost is $15. DanceBlue has special discount provisions for UK students and staff with discount codes ‘UKSTUDENT’ and ‘UKEMPLOYEE’. Each volunteer, registered by March 11 at 8 a.m., will receive a DanceBlue t-shirt.
