Couple Indicted for Murder in Death of Three-Month-Old Son Following Child Abuse Allegations

Lexington – A couple has been indicted for murder following the tragic death of their three-month-old son, Greyson Torres. Amancio “Meeko” Torres-Trevino Jr., 20, and Kaela Breann Walker, 20, face charges of both murder and first-degree criminal abuse in connection to the infant’s injuries.

The charges arose after police were called to a Lexington hospital in late September to investigate a report concerning a baby with life-threatening injuries. According to a news release, the initial investigation led to charges of child abuse against the pair.

Officer Franklin Epley indicated in a citation that Torres-Trevino was alone with the child when the injuries occurred. The citation further revealed that a third party, who has not been identified, claimed to have witnessed Torres-Trevino physically abusing Greyson multiple times in the month leading up to his hospitalization.

The baby suffered severe injuries, including trauma to his head and torso as well as internal injuries. An arrest citation for Walker stated that she was aware of the abuse but failed to report it to authorities or seek help.

Tragically, the infant succumbed to his injuries, prompting a grand jury to enhance the charges against both Torres-Trevino and Walker to include murder.

This case has raised serious questions about child welfare and the responsibilities of caregivers. Local authorities are continuing their investigation as they seek justice for the young victim.
