The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a vibrant atmosphere that merges the thrill of a comic convention with the welcoming environment of a library.

Comic Surge features a variety of attractions, including vendor and artist booths, a professionally judged costume contest, and a range of live performances. Attendees can expect to see an array of costumed characters, including notable figures such as Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked, Daenerys Targaryen, and iconic gaming characters like Zelda and Link. Additionally, the event will feature impressive life-sized dragons and interactive experiences.

The event is designed to be family-friendly and aims to unite fans of all ages. Kate Irwin, JCPL’s programming coordinator of special events, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “This is a unique way to unite fans and enthusiasts across our community. Each year, we offer something new and unexpected – while maintaining our fun and family-friendly environment.”
